Although it might be hard to imagine from looking at them, each one of these projects was a bold leap forward at the time, and each one came to life at the place where I’m happiest—the intersection of creativity and rapidly advancing technology.
The first Interactive Banner
The early days of the Internet were like the wild west. Nothing had been done before, so everything was brand new. The technology was super limited, but the world felt wide open.
This was the first banner ad that featured Interactivity. Admittedly, there wasn’t much to click on in those days, but this It received 17% clickthrough rate—thousands of times what would be considered successful today.
The first Website that sold plane tickets
When people talk about “business transformation'“ today, they forget that at one point, simply selling plane tickets over the Internet was a wildly complicated thing to pull off. This was the first airline ecommerce site.
The first ad that was a game
To promote lego’s programmable robot, we created a programmable banner ad using a brand new technology called Flash.

To help convince tweens to avoid smoking, we created Ydouthink, which was a wildly innovative and fun site in its day, and included the first ever branded chatbot, VaVaVirgil, which actually worked pretty good, and who still has their own entry on Urban Dictionary.

The first Google Carboard VR experience
When Google Carboard first launched their disposable VR headset, we made this first-of-its-kind virtual test drive for Volvo. Google Cardbaord went on to win a Grand Prix at Cannes that year with the Volvo experience as their star example.
